I doubt he's looking for advice on how to please his girlfriend, so it's rather futile to keep suggesting it.
As to the options, the first is the more sound one (although I think not the best one for most situations) The primary reason being that henchies don't do anything but run while chasing down their flag, leaving them very vulnerable.
It's also important to note that the henches are generally inferior to most player builds (though someone at some point will gladly point out the reverse of this I'm sure) so sending them to fight the enemy without their human leader is likely to get them killed. Especially in the Torment. Don't even try it there.

Different methods work for different people. You should both just play the way you prefer rather than argue over who has the better tactics.
Considering I couldn't 'flag' my henchies when I played through Factions (it was pre Nightfall ), I really can't comment on which method I'd prefer of the two you present. So long as there's protection against the damned death-explosions, I could go for either.

Do not engage if you see "Pestilence". Cast "Awaken the Blood". Activate "Soothing", and "Union". Put the flag on your bed. After aggro is locked, move the flag to your crotch area. Shout "On your knees!" is optional at this point. If you lose agro, use "Renewing Surge". Consider using "Pin Down" or "Practiced Stance" if neccessary. Do NOT use "Serpant's Quickness." "Make Haste" should only be used if your girlfriend calls for it. She might use "Lead the Way"...you will adjust your strategy accordingly. Next use ranger skill "Savage Pounce". Finnish up with "Screaming Shot" and "Energizing Finale".
BTW, definitly make sure no one casts "Boon of Creation" or "Fertile Season". Always make sure "Shield Stance" is up.

I've had, not arguments, bnut disagreements with my best friend on tactics many times. Finally, I decided to try something new: I let her play how she wanted, and I adapted around her playstyle. She prefers to go headlong into things, even when playing a caster, but listens to myy suggestions on party makeup. I make sure that her heros include a monk that will follow her, while mine (I play my warrior mostly) include Koss, a monk, and usually Acolyte Jin to spread conditions. She lets me run in first, but she's right behind me causing chaos.
To make it short, if you want everyone playing to have fun, then let everyone play the way they like. Instead of insisting on one way or another, adapt strategies based on teamwork and the big one, communication.
If you're both in the same room playing, then even if running headlong into the group isn't what YOU would do, if she says she's going in, you have no excuse not to be backing her up, maybe sending your melee henchies in for specific targets and generally keeping heat off. Likewise, if she wants to back up and pull, you can meet the mobs once they're safely away, giving her time to get back and set up for decimating them from the back line. There is plenty of room fior middle ground most of the time.

I'd go with option A. But it depends greatly on what profession I'm playing. As a Warrior, I'd flag my henchies to stay back while I went in and got the aggro on me. As a Ranger, I'd be pulling them to me. As a Monk - I'd probably send the henchies in, depending on what else is around.

Here is the scenario.
Your class is irrelevant, you don't do anything. Your henches are any that you can choose from Senji's Corner in Cantha. You are faced with a large variety of afflicted (About a group of 12). Do you..
A) Lure them into your group, hopign to bunch them up, and eventually whittling them down and destroying them.
B) Flag your henches directly into the center of the enemy group, keeping all enemy attention on your henches, keeping you perfectly safe, while you assail them from the outside and your AI kills them from the inside.
For the sake of fairness, I will not say whose is whose.
Please vote. Thank you.

This is a bit of a popularity contest. What exactly are you trying to prove?
The only right answer is the one that gives the player the most enjoyment out of his/her game. It's with NPC henchies after all, there are no other humans to consider.

What? Only 12? Pfft, I just walk in with my henchies and slaughter them all. Screw messing around with pulling and flanking.

Definately the first - for the same reasons already stated, henches are very vulnerable while moving to the flag. Also, keep in mind that you are sending in EVERYTHING if you flag in the middle - and you will lose your monks very fast...

neither
With many things especially something as petty a game you have to agree with women even if theyre wrong and seem sincere or they will hold it against you. Some of them think youre calling them stupid in these situations. It seems like if she would stop playing gw because of this disagreement that this would need to be your route to go but everyones different so idk
and due to the variations of bestiary neither is right or wrong
(on topic)-from the way you described those tactics your class is most definately relevant and if you were a nuker the second choice (obviously your gf's choice from the way you flamed it and boasted yours) would work

I vote: Quit arguing with your girlfriend about a game, you knob. Insisting that she's wrong to the point of her quitting is just dumb relationship tactics. Asking us to prove your point after she has obviously decided she doesn't want to deal with the topic anymore is a move in major stupidity. What was that joke about George Bush Brand Condoms...? For the dumb f***er who just doesn't know when to pull out. Something like that. Tactics, you fool, involves knowing how to choose youre battles, and knowing that not all of them are worth fighting.
Now step your ass away from the computer, go to your local florist, and buy the biggest "I'm sorry i was such and arrogant controlling jerk" floral arrangement you can get your retarded little hands on.

You can say that your class is unimportant as it does make a huge diffence on how you use your hench.
If your a monk you can send them in and keep them alive.
As a war its best if you charge in and hold some agro so they dont get wiped out fast.
As a ranger you'd pull for traps.
Rits pull for spirits or send in if your healing.
Not just each class but each build a player can use would change how that scenario is played out.
Note: bunched up aflicted + hench + AoE attacks = masive death nova and lots of dead hench.

Find a corner if possible, flag your melee hench to bodyblock (if you aren't a warrior yourself), and pull with a longbow. Wait for enemies to ball up at your bodyblock. Nuke. Win.
Giving or taking relationship advice on a gaming forum is ftl.
